Introduction Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is a novel treatment for otherwise resistant ventricular tachycardias (VTs). Different mechanisms SBRT VT suppression were proposed that include radiation-induced fibrosis but also SBRT-triggered increase in myocardial conduction velocities without significant fibrotic changes. Purpose The study compared morphologies cycle lengths (CLs) inducible VTs during re-do catheter ablation after with before SBRT. Methods We investigated patients underwent (a single session 25 Gy) refractory subsequent electrophysiology / reablation recurrences VTs. All analysed concerning morphology CL. Results A total 9 (2 women, aged 60 ± 13 years) included. Two had ischemic heart disease, six nonischemic cardiomyopathy, one cardiac fibroma. on chronic amiodarone treatment. mean ejection fraction left ventricle was 35 12%. planning target volume 39 21 ml. Electrophysiology study/reablation performed at interval 8 months (interquartile range: 2-10months) 23 27 distinct SBRT, respectively. Twelve pairs (44%) identified identical CL these decreased 399 98 ms to 472 74 (P = 0.01) Overall, 15/27 all induced originated irradiated region. Conclusions Recurrent commonly origin In pairwise comparison, has prolonged This suggests results rather than an velocity.

Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy for Recurrent Unresectable Head and Neck Cancers.

BACKGROUND Treatment of locoregional, recurrent head and neck cancers following definitive radiotherapy has evolved during the past 30 years. Brachytherapy as well as protracted courses of systemic therapy and chemoradiotherapy result in 12-month survival rates of 40% to 50% but have high rates of severe toxicity. Given the advancements in radiotherapy targeting and delivery, stereotactic body ...

Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) Reirradiation for Recurrent Pancreas Cancer

OBJECTIVES After adjuvant or definitive radiation for pancreas cancer, there are limited conventional treatment options for recurrent pancreas cancer. We explored the role of (Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy) SBRT for reirradiation of recurrent pancreas Cancer. METHODS This is a retrospective study of patients reirradiated with SBRT for recurrent pancreas cancer. All patients were deemed unres...

Reirradiation with robotic stereotactic body radiotherapy for recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

BACKGROUND Recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) after previous radiotherapy is challenging. There is no standard approach for salvage treatment. Here we present toxicity and treatment results for recurrent NFC patients who underwent fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (FSRT) as second line radiotherapy (RT). MATERIALS AND METHODS Between April 2009 and July 2012, 24 patients, with a ma...

Prostate-specific antigen kinetics after hypofractionated stereotactic body radiotherapy for localized prostate cancer

Background: stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) has emerged as an effective treatment for localized prostate cancer. However, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) kinetics after SBRT has not been well characterized. The objective of the current study is to analyze the rate of PSA decline and PSA nadir following hypofractonated SBRT in localized prostate cancer. Materials and Methods: From 2008...
